performance

This piece sees me performing the role of the Human Library - a place for people to lend books, get suggestions on things to read and get information about the books. I held the books for the duration of the exhibition opening, from 4-8pm, bearing the psychological weight of this knowledge and the physiological weight of the books as physical objects. This disrupts the typical exhibition opening dynamic, as books are scattered through the exhibition, distracting people from the other works, and the exhibition distracting people from my work.
